Tap2Beat is a not for profit initiative that simplifies donating to charities. This is done by harnessing the latest technology of contactless payment and through glass activation.
where is tap2beat?
The pilot scheme will be fundraising for homelessness and will utilise OnBrand’s office window to encourage passers-by to tap to donate.
The pilot campaign will focus on raising money for a range of homeless charities including: Open Door, Centre 33, Herts Young Homeless, Emmaus and Druglink by setting a £3 donation per tap, via a charity payment facilitator.
Donations made through Tap2Beat’s donation point will be split equally between the five charities.
Who’s behind it?
Tap2Beat was created by Daniel Graham, Managing Director of OnBrand Group, who recently moved the agency into St Albans.
Recognising its opportunity in having a business that is high street-facing, in the heart of St Albans, and a corporate and personal social responsibility, he wanted to do something positive in the local community.
Charity is one of the key values of the business of OnBrand, and by donating the window space of its shop front, for the purposes of fundraising, it hopes others will follow, and make the wider public more aware and supportive of helping homelessness in the city.
who’s it for?
Donations made through Tap2Beat’s donation point are split equally between five homeless charities within Hertfordshire. Each charity works tirelessly to ensure they help rough sleepers in a range of ways. This includes supporting and teaching them to cope with the day-to-day, but also to forge a path away from life on the streets. Each of the participating charities will benefit from your support.
Amongst their work, they cover a broad range of services, such as providing safe rooms and support to young people, long-term support to someone with mental health issues, emergency severe weather shelters for people with nowhere else to turn in sub-zero temperatures, or skills training to help someone homeless back into work, and managing addiction. Tap2Beat has been supported by initial funding from St Albans BID and St Albans District Council.
